Frequently Asked
Questions

Booking & Process

How do I book a tattoo session?

You can book directly through the booking page for consultations and standard sessions. For larger custom pieces, submit an enquiry first so we can discuss your idea, placement, and sizing before committing to a date.

Do I need a consultation before my appointment?

For small or straightforward pieces, it is not always necessary. For larger compositions, full-body work, or pieces that require custom illustration, a consultation — either in person or by video — is strongly recommended. It is free and takes around 15 minutes.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Bare Studio is a private atelier and operates by appointment only. Walk-ins are not available. This ensures every session gets the time and focus it deserves.

How far in advance should I book?

Availability varies by season. As a general guide, plan at least 4–6 weeks ahead for regular sessions. Large custom pieces may have a longer waitlist. Check the booking page for current availability.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A deposit of €50 is required to secure your appointment and goes toward the total cost of your tattoo. It is non-refundable if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice or do not show up.

Design & Style

Can I bring my own design?

You can bring reference images, mood boards, or sketches as inspiration. All tattoos are drawn by hand to fit your body specifically — Ania does not copy existing tattoos or someone else's artwork.

What tattoo styles do you specialise in?

Realistic, fine line, brushstroke, dotwork, colour realism, and minimalist. If you're unsure which style suits your idea, the consultation is the right place to explore that together.

Do you do cover-ups or reworks?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Cover-ups require an in-person consultation to assess the existing tattoo. Please send a photo to bareania@gmail.com before booking so we can advise on what is achievable.

Will I see the design before the session?

For custom pieces, a drawing is prepared ahead of your appointment. Minor adjustments can be made on the day. Complete redesigns on the day of your session may require rescheduling.

Pricing

How much does a tattoo cost?

Pricing depends on size, complexity, and session length. Small pieces start from €60, medium-to-large work from €200. Full-day sessions are priced on request. A personalised quote is provided after your consultation.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, bank transfer, and card payments are accepted at the studio. The deposit is payable at the time of booking via the online booking system.

Preparation & Aftercare

How should I prepare for my session?

Eat a full meal 1–2 hours before your appointment. Stay well-hydrated. Wear or bring clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand. Do not apply lotion to the area on the day.

What does the aftercare process look like?

Ania will provide written aftercare instructions at the end of your session. In general: keep the area clean and moisturised, avoid sun exposure and swimming for the first 2–3 weeks, and do not pick or scratch the healing skin.

Do you offer touch-ups?

One free touch-up is included within 3 months of your session, provided you have followed the aftercare instructions. Touch-ups needed due to neglect, sun damage, or picking are charged at a reduced rate.

Travel & Guest Spots

Do you travel for guest spots?

Yes. Ania has worked in Thailand, Cambodia, France, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States. Guest spot inquiries are welcome — please contact directly via email to discuss dates and locations.

Can I book if I am not based in Portugal?

Absolutely. Nazaré is a beautiful destination and many clients travel specifically for their tattoo. Destination commissions are welcome — get in touch to plan your visit around your session.
