CHOOSING YOUR TATTOO

When it comes to tattoos, if you want one, you probably know what you want. I'm only here to help you precise the idea.

Here is what you should consider when choosing your next project:

- Placement (where on the body would you want to have it?)

- Size and composition in that place on the body (f.ex arm: you can say I want it from my elbow down, but going 360' around my arm)

- Subject (what is the object of the tattoo? What message do you want it to carry? If its only for aesthetic reason- Im sure you have a chosen aesthetic and a theme that comes with it)

- Style (sketchy, realistic, fine-line, colour, illustrative, dottwork, geometric, abstract, texturised, childish, collage, lettering, minimalistic) There is so much to choose from. It can also be that you want something so specific that you are about to make your own style

- Artist (the person you will trust to make your final tattoo design and have control of the composition on the body and tattooing you) Its easier when you see tattoos that you like in the artist portfolio. If you don't like anything this person has done, then maybe its not "your person". Also if you feel like the tattooer is in any way rude, in rush or neglecting your feelings or comfort in any way you should go away. (off course eventually you will have to trust this person and collaborate. Getting tattooed is not like getting massage, sometimes it might be difficult but not from anybody fault)

These are also things you need to communicate to the studio or the particular artist you will get tattooed by (except for the last point if you already have a chosen artist)

To research all these things I recommend a lot of brainstorming. I find Pinterest being extremely helpful here. You can collect all images of tattoos you like and safe them together on one board. Later you can say: I want this style, this placement and this theme from different pictures.

My recommendation is to always sleep over an idea that's in your head and let it mature like good wine. When you know then you will know and there should not be too many doubts.

Good luck! And if you need any help with any of these aspects I can help you. Even if you are in another place in the world I can be your consultant via Zoom and we can talk about what you like, find the right style for the theme, prepare you for what to say and what to expect and finding the right artist in your area to do it correctly. I can also design your tattoo and send it to you, ready to be executed by a tattooer.

If you are interested in that you can fill in the message form.

Good luck and enjoy your tattoo journey :)
